Recently Network rail closed the line between Crowborough and Uckfield because they want to extend the platforms. When the platforms are extended they should hold ten coaches. They are hoping to alleviate the over crowding on this line. A schedule has been drawn up so that this work can be accomplished. For commuters it will inevertibly cause disruption. They started work in September 2015 at Edenbridge Town station. The latest news is that Edenbridge Town station is well under way. The new platforms are coming along well. See here for information on the developments. http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/plan-your-journey/improvement-works/ At Hever station, network rail have only marked out where the platforms are going to be. The picture above shows the new platforms at Edenbridge Town station on the 23rd of December 2015.
I will bring you more news when I have been round the stations on this line.
